This competitively priced MoreSense MS-05 measures CO2, temperature, and humidity using the Sensirion SCD40. Sensirion is a Swiss company known for its reliable sensors with a long lifespan. The sensor can optionally be connected to a WiFi network (not required) and can be integrated with many home automation systems like Domoticz and Home Assistant using MQTT or REST. Both Domoticz and Home Assistant support auto-discovery (via MQTT), which means the sensors are added automatically. It can also be connected to Homey. For Homey, no MQTT server is needed, just the HomeyDuino app (free to download from the Homey app store). The measurements can also be accessed using an HTTP GET command (REST), and the data is returned in JSON format.

This sensor can be used to control a ventilation system, potentially leading to significant savings. In the winter, you won't have to exhaust your valuable warm air unnecessarily. Control is possible via your home automation system or directly through smart plugs. A suitable smart plug is also available if needed.

The built-in RGB LED changes to green, orange, or red depending on the CO2 level, allowing you to quickly and easily assess the air quality and take action if needed. There is also an LED that indicates the WiFi status. Additionally, the sensor has a built-in web server that lets you read values, adjust settings, and perform firmware updates (see photos).
