The RGBtoHDMI interface converts the "digital" RGB video signal from vintage computers like the BBC Micro or PC MDA/CGA/EGA to HDMI

The RGBtoHDMI interface converts the "digital" RGB video signal from vintage computers like the BBC Micro or PC MDA/CGA/EGA to HDMI or DVI compatible with most modern TVs/Monitors. The interface comprises a Raspberry Pi Zero and a specially designed Hat containing a small CPLD. Custom firmware on the Raspberry Pi, in conjunction with the CPLD, is able to correctly sample each of the supported video modes to give a pixel-perfect rendition. The HDMI output is locked to the input so there are no frame drops, repeats or tears and it also has low lag of around 4 milliseconds.

The CPLD is flashed with the last version (2023/05/17). The product is tested with both an Apple IIc and CGA pattern generator. Cable shell may differ from picture.

I'm not the creator of this project, I only sell spare boards.

[UPDATE 05/10/2023] Price increased from $40 to $41 due to inflation, I'm sorry about that but I have no other choice.

[UPDATE 09/10/2023] Options label changed to be clearer, added option for IDC 12 pins ribbon cable, with no connector for DIY cable.

[UPDATE 14/08/2024] Cable length is increased. All cables are now between 24 and 27 cm (9.5 and 10.5 inches).
