This is a vent cover for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. Since it is not possible to turn off the fan air flow between the driver and passenger independently, this vent cover allows you to effectively block the air flow for either the driver or passenger.

The cover can be pushed behind the center display when not being used (the vents are closed in that section). It has a slight friction fit so it shouldn't slide around. It can be slid to either the driver or passenger side, and it stops before the side mirror directional vent, also a friction fit to hold it in place.

When the fan is on the higher settings (e.g. 7+), it may lift upward a little due to the air pressure, but it should still hold in place and block the air. One purchaser noted you can also add two strips of weighted tape (2 grams per inch, can be found on Amazon) to the back of the vent cover to add weight which will help if you run the fan on high setting.

The vent cover is 3D printed in ABS. It has one long middle piece and two end caps, which are held in place with 2-56 screws. The vent cover can be used as is, or can be wrapped with vinyl if you want a different color or look.

The vent cover is available in either black, silver and white. There is now a short vent option (black only). The short vent is half the size and comes as a set of two. The short vent allows you to split the vent placement and partially block the air flow, driver side, passenger side, or both on one side. Please specify when ordering. If a color is out of stock, should be be available again within 2 days. Please check back.

One size should fit all, but since each Tesla Model 3/Y may have a slightly different fitment between the dashboard top and the vent slot, the vent cover may fit differently for each car. This can be remedied by sanding down any tight spots on the vent cover if needed (if too large), or adding tape or the loop side of hook/loop tape to make it thicker, also if needed. Tested with Model 3 and Model Y, earliest builds to 2023, and it should fit all the vents. It will not work for the newly refreshed 2024 (Highland) Model 3. It is unnecessary as this model allows the passenger to turn off the fan.
