What is it?

Graphics card to run MSX games on the H8 computer. Includes TMS9918 F18A graphics core on a Tang Nano 9K FPGA, AY-3-8910 sound chip and ESP32 programmed with the Unijoysticle2 firmware supporting bluetooth gamepad controllers.

Why did you make it?

Wanted a graphics card that can run the standard H8 graphics software for the HA-8-3 graphics card and in addition be configurable to run most of MSX games using my MSX8 CP/M program.

What makes it special?

In H8 mode it is set up for I/O port 270Q for VDP and 272Q for PSG and in MSX mode it is set up for I/O port 0x98 for VDP and 0xA0 for PSG. ESP32 can connect to practically all bluetooth game controllers for wireless joystick game play. The ESP32 GPIO pins are routed through a level converter and inverted and connected directly to the PSG general purpose ports at register 14 (player 1) and 15 (player 2).
