What is it?

Heathkit H8 Z80 CPU board with 2MHZ front panel adapter and RS232 cable. Runs several versions of the CP/M operating system such as CP/M, CP/M 3, ZSDOS and more. Does not run HDOS (see my H8 Z80++ board for HDOS/Heath CPM support)

The 2MHZ front panel adapter plugs into IC103 of the front panel and allows the front panel to work at 16MHZ.

2MHZ FRONT PANEL ADAPTER

Why did you make it?

Needed a new and stable Z80 CPU board that could boot from compact flash for my H8 computer so I don't need to use floppies anymore.

What makes it special?

Boot directly from compact flash, no more need for floppy disks. Runs at 16MHZ and has a built-in RS232 port hardwired for 350Q which is the main console port for the H8 computer.
