It is always nice to have some protection against over current or short circuit situations. The TPS25200 eFuse Module offers programmable over current protection for your circuit. When the current draw exceeds the current-limit threshold for more than 8ms, the eFuse will cut the current. The eFuse can be reset by a push button. Key features include:

• Programmable current limit up to 2.9A
• 60mΩ(typical) MOSFET switch
• Automatic startup(requires fast rising input, see datasheet)
• 8ms deglitch
• 3~5V input

The current-limit threshold is programmed via a potentiometer, ranging from 100mA to 2.9A. The eFuse will shutdown after an over-current event and a red LED will light up to indicate a fault. By pushing the button on the module, the eFuse will reset and resume normal operation if the over current/short is removed.

There are 3 options for ordering.

1. Fully assembled: the module with screw terminals, push button and potentiometer soldered.
2. Bare PCB: only the PCB, without screw terminals, push button and potentiometer.
3. Custom fixed current-limit threshold: I can solder a resistor to set a fixed current-limit threshold for you, please contact me via message if you wish to order this option.
