Read More…This is a breakout for any micro SD socket, allowing you to conveniently and nondestructively access whatever pins the socket has been internally connected to. This kit was designed specifically for the Teensy 3.5/3.6 where it facilitates access to 6 otherwise-inaccessible GPIO pins. However, you can use this kit with any standard micro SD socket that has enough space.
Included are two small PCBs: one mimics a micro SD card, the other fits into a standard breadboard. A ribbon cable (included) is used to connect the two boards. The breadboard-side PCB has markings on both sides: one side shows Teensy-relevant signals, the other shows generic SD card signals. When you assemble the pin headers (also included) you decide which markings you want to be facing up.
