What is it? This is a breakout board for the MCP4725 I2C 12-bit DAC IC. It breaks out the I2C pins, power input, I2C address and DAC output. It comes with a straight 6-pin header for the main connector and a pair of 4-pin straight/right-angle headers for I2C. Soldering is required for the header. If you need it soldered, please send me a message.

The DAC output has a high frequency LC filter on the output. The address is configurable by shorting a jumper on board.

There are many Arduino libraries for this IC.

This board uses the "A0" variant of the IC. I can also provide the "A2" variant if needed.

The MCP4725 IC is a 12-bit DAC that can be controlled via I2C with simple commands. It works with both 3.3V and 5V logic (perfect for 5V MCU's as well as 3.3V MCU's like the ESP32). Multiple ICs can be connected on the same I2C bus (one will need the A0 address bit shorted). There is even an EEPROM that can be store data, which can be used to store information like manufacturing date and serial number.

Why did you make it?

I needed a board that had the STEMMA QT connector but also just regular header pins (this way I can just stack my I2C demo boards).

What makes it special?

It has the STEMMA QT / qwiic connector in addition to just regulator 4-pin 0.1" header connector. The board is designed to be robust and make it easy to make it debug or modify boards for product development.
