What is it? Low power Atmega1284P-PU node with LoRa Module (RFM95W or SX1276). TX Power can be programmed at 14dBm (25mW) compliant to EU standard or using the maximum at 100mW. Include one 9 cm. lo…
Read More…Low power Atmega1284P-PU node with LoRa Module (RFM95W or SX1276).
If you work with LoRaWan and LMIC stack, LoRaWan stack will fill up your memory storage space. One day, no more sensors can be added in your code. Especially, when you feel Arduino UNO or Atmega328 is too small for your code and it also eat up too much power, our product is right for you.
2 Groves socket (XH2.54 JST 4 Pin) for I2C Sensor. 1 Grove UART socket (XH2.54 JST 4 Pin)for GPS Module. 1 port for FTDI programming. So, you can program it directly by your FTDI. Only just plug in and use your Arduino IDE.
We install MightyCore 1284 16Mhz Optiboot Bootloader. You have to install MightyCore board before using your IDE.
14uA during sleep mode and 135mA during sending (SF7, BW125Khz, TX14). Long Range 1-5 km in City and 5-15km in urban area or Line of Sight. We are carefully design to make it a low power node as much as possible. You can use this node as your sensor node by connecting the node to any sensors you like. It works well with LMIC Library and TheThingsNetwork.
Add ATmega1284 Board in Arduino IDE You have to add MightyCore to Arduino IDE before uploading program. It can be done easily by using IDE Menu. Download and read "Boards Manager Installation section" from this Link
Select following option before upload:
Board Atmega1284
Pinout Standard
Clock 16Mhz External
Compiler LTO Enable
Variant 1284P
BOD 2.7V
**Source Code****
You can generate source code for a few sensors with Low power enable by using the skecth generator Click Here
Select "Basic sense/send (low_power)" Template to keep using 14uA while in sleep mode.
After all options are selected, you can click generate. Cut and Paste the program and save as .ino extension.
Open skecth file and Change pin mapping to:
.nss = 14,
.rxtx = LMIC_UNUSED_PIN,
.rst = LMIC_UNUSED_PIN,
.dio = { 12, 13, 15 },
LMIC Library There are many LMIC Libraries for Arduino or ATmega MCU Platform. All of them are forked from IBM LMIC (LoraMAC-in-C) library.
Select one of these:
Low Power Library Low Power Lab
Important Notice
- This product is suitable only for an user who has a basic knowledge in Arduino IDE and C Language.
- Before plug in FTDI to female pin header on the node, change jumper on FTDI to provide 3.3V. The default jumper from factory is 5V.
Remark GPS on Picture is NEO-6M. Connect pin GPS RXD to Node RX, pin TXD to TX, pin GND to GND, pin VCC to 3V3.
You might have the following lines in your sketch:
include SoftwareSerial.h
SoftwareSerial gpsSerial(10, 11)
