The PowerTap is tiny (less than 1” square) accessory board for simplifying the hookup of power on long runs of LEDs. Due to voltage drops over long strips, it is recommended to inject power about every 5 meters or 5A current draw, whichever comes first. With the PowerTap, you can build in a quick connect/disconnect power port in between your sections of LEDs.

NOTE: The power jack supplies power to the output side ONLY. This is to prevent damage to your power supplies due to slight voltage differences that might occur of the input and output V+ lines were connected.

The PowerTap is also a great accessory to the AllPixel Universal LED Controller

Features

• 2.1mm DC barrel jack for input of 5-12V @ up to 5A
• Connections for V+, DATA, CLOCK, and GROUND
• Input and output headers are standard 0.1” spacing, screw terminals included
• Data, Clock, and Ground are carried along to the other side while power is only sent to the output terminal to the next section of LEDs (for power supply protection)
• 1000uF capacitor for smoothing out power fluctuations
