What is it?

This Arduino shield contains everything you need to test your Arduino home automation projects. It has the following features:

• 5V relay to control any device with up to 250V AC & 10A
• ACS712 current sensor directly integrated with the relay to measure current & energy consumption
• DHT11 sensor for temperature & humidity measurements
• Photocell for ambient light level measurements
• 2-pin header with pull-down resistor to plug a door contact sensor
• 3-pin header to plug a PIR motion sensor

Why did you make it?

I was tired of playing with several breakout boards and breadboards to test my home automation projects, so I designed this shield. I made it so I could test all the components of a basic home automation system using a single shield, without having to make a single connection.

What makes it special?

The shield packs many home automation components that are usually available on separate breakout boards only. The shield is also compatible with already existing Arduino shields. For example, you can combine it with a CC3000 WiFi shield or a Bluetooth shield to add wireless connectivity to your home automation projects.
