What is it?

This amazing piece of technology is a 4-in-1 visualizer for audio. It uses two displays to show you exactly what you want to see. One Screen will always display a Stereo VU meter, analog style. For the other display, you can choose between four options. You can display another VU meter so that both screen show the same information or you can have it show a stereo spectrum analyzer of maximum 69 channels in Stereo. You also have to option to show a digital VU meter of a Correlation meter. If we take the VU meter on one screen ( L and R channel) and the Spectrum analyzer on the other( 69 Left + 69 Right frequency bins) we are actually looking at a 140 channel analyzer. Amazing! It used a Teensy 4.1 with added external PSRAM and a Teensy Audio board to do the actual FFT analysis in real time. Because of this combination of hardware, it is very fast and it is easy for the display to keep up with the audio. The new version 2.2 uses a software that can also drive pixelled matrixes.. the software is backwards compatible. In other words it will run on the older boards but the IR functionality has been stripped and the software interface ( the windows app to communicate with the board) doesn't work. But, who need it right?

Why did you make it?

IT was a challenge to get two displays to work with a Teensy at a very high speed. Having success with this, I want to share it with the community so everyone can learn from it.

What makes it special?

The Audio Visualizer used a Teensy Audio Board that has the capability to do real fast, real time audio FFT analysis. This makes it a perfect starting point for spectrum analyzers.

Options

You can buy two version: 1. V2.2 this is the new standard board. It has on board audio chip so you don't need the Teensy Audio board anymore. This is the PCB with pink/purple silkscreen. All components included except for the Teensy board( with added RAM), the displays and a fuse. You also need to add headers and sockets for display and teensy. 2. V2.0 one 4 left. Green silkscreen This is the same board as version 2.2 except that the pcb holes for the teensy are a bit smal and standard headers don't fit. Other then that..everything works fine and is the same as V2.2. Don't worry, I will include the fitting headers with your order so you should be fine! 3. V1.0 is no longer available. Getting hold of a Teensy Audio board turned out to hard for some. It's also expensive. In the version 2.0 and above, the teensy Audio board is no longer needed as the chip is integrated in the design.
