What is it?

RFID DOMINATOR 2.0 is a second generation of RFID enabled stopwatch, which is favourite equipment for Airsoft, Paintball events, games. This version comes with white 3D printed PLA enclosure. It works as a manning point that players are capturing in the game by attaching their RFID tag. That tag can be a RFID card or a RFID wristband (also keychains are supported) that runs on 13.56 MHz and has ISO/IEC 14443-A standard.

Standardly each team member has his own RFID tag, which is assigned to his team color or name. Stopwatch supports firmware for 2 or 4 teams. So you can choose during order, if you want firmware for 2 or 4 teams and I will tailor-made firmware for you.

Project does not have open-source code and due of that, each of the firmware is made for each customer. That is warranty of that, RFID DOMINATOR will work only with your cards and also you can clone it to as many RFID DOMINATORS as you need.

RFID DOMINATOR 2.0 stopwatch is counting and visualisating TOTAL time of occupancy on the point. After player captures the point, stopwatch will beep once and team LED will turn on. Time is counting until player from other team captures the point. Referee is able to pause the time (in case of injury of player, hit confirmation, etc.). Eraser is able to stop and reset the time.

What hardware is it using?

As the main components (Arduino, LCD 2004A, MFRC522) are using pin headers, there is possible to hotswap them, without needing to solder anything within seconds. Just pull it out and put the new component in.

What resolution stopwatch provides?

Stopwatch is using 1 second resolution with maximum time output of 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds, that means it can be used for longer events which are running for days. Possible to power up via 5V powerbank, standard current consumption 40-60 mAh based on load on the system, number of cards attached and so on.

Will I need to solder or upload anything?

No, stopwatch components are already soldered on the PCB, firmware you will choose will be uploaded into the unit and you will receive the firmware also via e-mail for future usage. Cloning firmware, uploading to new Arduino etc. As firmware is in .hex format, you can upload it using XLoader tool that is simple GUI interface, or if you are more advanced, you can use also AVRDUDE.

Also you can develop your own firmware on that plaform, schematics is attached. Possible to build non-Airsoft Ethernet device with ENC28J60 shield that fits Arduino Nano.

What will be included in the package?

• RFID DOMINATOR 2.0 complete device with all hardware, enclosure (cable not provided)
• 24 RFID white cards with team marked with permanent marker (RED, GRE...)
• 3 mm cross screwdriver (for setting the contrast of the LCD screen for ambient temperature)
