Ever wanted to try communicate to your Pi with a pair of fiber optics? This is probably the cheapest option possible. This adapter allows you to use the LSOF module with your Raspberry Pi (all models, not just the newer ones with the 40-pin GPIO header) and talk with it optically.

What's New in Revision 3:

• Raspberry Pi 3 and above now no longer have a working hardware UART port out of the box, if the onboard Bluetooth module is used. I added a workaround by introducing a SC16IS740 on the I2C bus to handle the optical UART interface. This means that, after loading the corresponding device tree overlay, the optical UART should be /dev/ttySC0.
• The onboard RTC is no longer considered an optional component, as it uses custom wiring that is incompatible with the default i2c-rtc overlay. The custom wiring supports RTC alarms though.
• The optional component now is lithium ion coin cell support.
