THIS PRODUCT IS PHASED OUT, OUT OF STOCK FOR ALL ADAPTERS PLEASE CHECK THE NEW VERSION (Modular, All Metal Casing) Here: New Version
Please verify that the option you want is available.
For high performance C/CS mount lens tube please check: https://www.tindie.com/products/24766/
The five-piece set includes - Two Camera mount adapters - short and long (length varies by lens mount type) - Two tube extension - (length varies by lens mount type) - One RMS microscope objective adapter
The Camera mount adapters and RMS adapters are equipped with anodized aluminum connectors. The mount tube, tube extension, and RMS adopter cone are made of 3D printed PLA.
Different optical lengths can be assembled, each provide different magnification. These are different for different lens mount due to different flange distance.
For Sony E-mount and Canon EF-M mount optical lengths are: [160mm, 140mm, 120mm, 100mm, 80mm, or 60mm] For Nikon F-mount optical length are: [160mm, 140mm, 130mm, 110mm, 100mm, 80mm]
The length of 160mm is the nominal length for standard microscope objectives (also known as finite conjugate objectives). However, good images at lower magnifications are obtained by the different tube length as shown in the attached images.
Sony macro lens image is also shown for comparison.
Please note that focusing is manual, and requires a good and stable tripod. Camera, Tripod, and Microscope objective lens shown in the images are for visualization. Images shown were captured using the shown AmScope 4x 0.1NA finite conjugate Plan Achromat objective lens, Which is available on-line for as low as $22US (Aug 2021). Please do not use infinity-corrected objectives (these require an expensive tube lens and will not work with this adapter).
I needed a microscope macro adapter for my Sony camera to be used in a scanner I'm building. I purchased a commercial extension tube from Edmund Optics, which worked well under normal conditions. However, it did not perform well in High Dynamic Range (HDR) conditions, specifically scanning a B/W film negative. I, therefore, build my own adapter, which I am now using and is identical to the one that is offered here.
The product utilizes a special inner geometry (US patent 10,788,663) that significantly reduces unwanted reflections from reaching the camera. The product is also provided as a set to allow six different magnifications from the same microscope objective.
