Read More…Axon is an Open Source MIDI to CV Eurorack module!
Connect it to your Modular synth using a regular MIDI cable (DIN 5 pins).
This module outputs all these controls as CV:
- Note: 88 keys, 1V/octave using a 12-bit DAC
- Velocity: 0 to 4V
- Control Change: 0 to 4V
- Pitch Bend: 0.5 +/-0.5V
- Gate: 5V for the duration of the key press
- Trigger: 5V for 20ms for each key press
- Clock: 5V for 20ms each quarter note
Configurable settings:
- Pitch bend can be applied directly to the note output via a switch on the front panel
- Note priority can be switched between latest, lowest and highest via a switch on the back
- Note and gate can be sent to your power bus if compatible (only on 16 pins to 16 pins Eurorack cable)
- MIDI channel can be chosen between 1 and 16 via a dip switch on the back
- The module can be calibrated to accurately output 1V/oct
This allows you to have complete control of your Modular synth with a MIDI controller!

- Pre-flashed Arduino Nano (clone)
- Shielded USB cable for the Arduino

I made this module to control my modular synth with an Arturia Keystep Pro.
I came across this Open Source project by Larry McGovern and decided to tweak it for my needs. While I'm at it, why not make it available for others!
This project is released under the GPL-3.0 license as is the original project by Larry McGovern.
The schematics are also open source, which mean you can purchase this module directly from me or decide to order all the PCBs, source the components and solder everything yourself!
The firmware is running on an Arduino Nano and the source code is available on Github.
It is easy to hack and /or adapt to your needs if you can program a bit.
I'm a professional software developer so I tried to make this code as clear as possible.
See the full documentation for more informations.
See the module details on Modular Grid.
In the case of any mistakes or defects in your order, please let me know right away. I'll do my best to make things right.
Assemblies are often built on-demand. Please allow up to a week lead time for all orders containing any custom-assembled items.
Orders can be cancelled anytime before the shipping label has already been generated, in that case a full refund can be issued. Once the label has been generated, the order can no longer be cancelled; it can only be returned for a refund.
Returns are fine as long as they occur within 2 weeks. Please notify me of any returns in advance. A full refund will be issued for all returned items that are received in like-new condition. However, outgoing shipping expenses will not be refunded, and any return shipping expenses will not be reimbursed.
It is the buyer's sole responsibility to safely return any purchased items in order to receive a refund. This includes paying for any return postage and/or shipping insurance premiums. If the buyer decides to refuse a package or designate a package as RTS (return to sender) via the carrier (instead of paying for return postage) there is usually no guarantee that the package will be returned to me in a timely manner, or at all. A refund may not be issued until the items are physically received and inspected. If any return shipping expenses are billed to me by the carrier, that amount will be deducted from any associated refund.
International buyers are solely responsible for any import customs duties, taxes, fees, tariffs, or any other associated costs. These costs will not be reimbursed in the case of a return, and any import costs that I need to pay in order to facilitate a return shipment may be deducted from any associated refund. If a shipment is returned to me because of unpaid import customs fees, the original shipping costs will not be refunded.
