This little PCB sports a bank of 5 LEDs that runs on a standard USB-C cable like the ones used to charge many popular phones. I designed it for 3D-printed lithopanesm but then I realized it's a handy little module for makers and hackers, and all sorts of others people who need a little light in a pinch. It can be used to light up holiday decorations, as a makeshift night light, or even as an internal light source for a manufactured product or a prototype in a project box. This board can be tucked into small places, such as display cases to shine some extra light on items you're showing to sell.

The PCB comes pre-assembled, so you don't have to solder. It will be ready to glow out of the bag. Because it runs on only 5VDC, it is safe to touch, so you could just plug it in as-is without putting it in a case. It draws approximately 200mA of current, which is far lower than the standard minimum of 1 Amp in the USB-C specification. That means it won't burn out your USB adapter, and it won't run hot. It tends to run only a few degrees above room temperature. The dimensions are L=38mm x W=32mm. I deliberately squeezed the design into a smol footprint so that it will tuck nicely into a project box or even as a backlight inside other manufactured products.

You don't need anything but a USB plug to light this little circuit up, so anyone can use it. That was my intention behind the simple design. I wanted to make it as simple as possible with a standard power input so that anyone can use it. No soldering, no programming and no electronics knowledge needed.
