ESP-01 8266 on breadboard and easy flashing

Getting an ESP-01 on a breadboard is pain. Flashing it is a pain. There are solutions, but I didn't have a good one to solve both at the same time. This little adapter board lets me go through flash/test cycles without having to disconnect/reconnect wires or move the esp-01 to a different rig to flash.
With a USB to serial adapter (5V power 3v3 logic and DTR/RTS) [https://www.adafruit.com/product/3309] I can now hit the 'upload' button in the Arduino IDE and the esp-01 is put into flash mode, and after the flashing completes it gets reset). I generally use easier to use dev boards where this is not an issue, but I sometimes do want to try things with cheap ESP-01 modules.

Also a seriously impressive neat packaging job, the mail truck would have to drive over the package to damage its contents.

Things I haven't tried yet:
- try powering the adapter board with a 3v3 usb2serial device (bypass the 5v->3v3 voltage regulator)
- run i2c on the d0/d2 pins

Note: if your usb to serial only has power/gnd/rx/tx you can still use this adapter board but you need to do some button press juggling (that's an ESP-01 thing)

Great idea. A real time saver !

Was happy to find this product. Really helps speed-up development of ESP-01 based projects when using a breadboard.

Great little tool voor ESP-01

This board is a very nice "tool" when you like to use an ESP-01 in breadboard setup.
Onboard DCDC converter and boot/reset buttons makes it even easier to use.
