Read More…A UPDI Standalone Programmer for programming AVR/Attiny/Atmega Devices. This programmer will program the Attiny0 series, Attiny1 series and the Attiny2 series MCU's. It also supports the AVRDA, AVRDB & AVRDD devices as well as the Atmega0 series MCU's all without using a computer. Just load the hex files, set up configuration with a simple terminal program (For best results, use TeraTerm), the programmer now operates as a standalone programmer. To find out if this programmer supports the MCU you are using, please see the device list below.
Similar to my other programmer here. Except this one will do larger capacity (128K) devices. Please see the device list below. This programmer is great for mass production programming or for updating devices for customers. If you need to program multiple devices with the same code, the UPDI Standalone programmer really simplifies the operation! It Programs and Verifies Flash, Eeprom, Fuses, User Row and Lock Bits. Each operation can be enabled or disabled in the configuration.
The AVR UPDI Standalone Programmer is most convenient for programming the bootloader in brand new chips. Just load the bootloader hex file and set up the fuses. Now you can just leave the bootloader code stored in the programmer for multiple uses. The bootloader code programs in only a few seconds!
The UPDI Standalone AVR Programmer operates through the one wire UPDI interface on your AVR MCU. A three wire connection is required. (VCC, GND, UPDI). A cable is include with the programmer.
There is a growing need for an affordable standalone programmer that supports the UPDI protocol. There is no need to install a HUGE, (really slow and frustrating) program on your computer just to program your MCU. The UPDI programmer is fast and reliable.
You do need a computer to set it up initially, or whenever you want to change the hex files. The UPDI Standalone Programmer is configured to work best with TeraTerm (a simple terminal program). Once set up, The UPDI Standalone Programmer runs from a USB power supply or USB port and can supply power to your target (3V or 5V only) or the target can run on its own power (1.8V to 5V). The UPDI Standalone Programmer cannot run from target power. The data (Flash, Eeprom, User Row, Fuse and Lock bits) are stored in the programmers memory until it is changed. Standalone operation is invoked when jumper J1 is installed. It just can't be any easier.
The UPDI Standalone ISP Programmer can also be password protected for preventing unauthorized usage. If you are purchasing this item, please check your email messages on Tindie for instructions.
Rest assured if you buy this item you will receive support for any questions you may have. I am the originator of this item, not a reseller so you will always receive an honest, quick & direct response to any emails.
When buying a cheap item from China and you ask the seller a simple question, do you quickly receive a straight answer? Probably not. Most of the time the seller doesn't even know what he/she is selling and cannot offer any type of support (even if there was no language barrier).
For any questions, just send me an email message here or look for the email address in the user guide you downloaded. I usually respond immediately and I will do my best to help you successfully program your device.
