Really cool clock, but could use a bigger display

Great clock, great communication. Mike is great to work with!

My three requests would be :
1. Make a beeper or other alarm (since my son wants to use it for his bedside clock)
2. Have a larger display option
3. Use Micro USB instead of mini. Mini cables are getting hard to come by.

I'll probably modify mine for these things at some point.

Thanks for getting these to us in time for Christmas!

Cool discussion piece for the bookshelf

An incredibly small and cool device that can fit anywhere. I have two bits of feedback for the designer:
1. The ball should move across the screen once per second... currently it's once every 5 or so seconds
2. The player on the receiving end already moves into the correct or wrong position as soon as the opponent sends it back. It would be more realistic if the paddles bounced around a bit and landed at the right/wrong spot just before the ball hits it.

Both of these points could be due to the slow processor that couldn't handle the calculations.

Great little clock

I have been on the look out for a bedside clock for a long time, and now I have found one that I really like.
I love that its open source and programmable, so if I get bored with the pong, I can change it.

The design is great, and the PCBs themselves are of excellent quality.

Mine included an FDTI header and a small USB cable.

No complaints here!

Glad you like the PongClock. It was a fun project and a new one with a few tweaks is in the works. The new one will have the buttons on interrupt pins so setting the time will be more responsive. Possibly tiny right angle pushbuttons may happen as well.

Excellent!

I'd received the kit with one of the new blue displays and it's awesome. The brightness is perfect and that blue characters give it a very cool looking.
It came without the headers for programing, but, in my opinion, is the only "bad" thing to note.

Finally: it arrives in less than 2 weeks, which, for an overseas packaging that involves customs handling, is fast.

Glad you like the clock. It was a fun project.To get the pongclock code onto the board I have an FTDI board with male pins on it. I slide it onto the pongclock board, program it and then slide it off. The programming pins are left beautiful gold and look untouched. If others are interesting in reprogramming the clock then I should start including a header. I wasn't sure if I should include a header, solder a female connector in place or just leave it bare.
