What is it?

This is an open source reflow oven controller based on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. This controller allows almost any toaster or convection oven to be converted into a full-featured soldering reflow oven.It uses a PID control algorithm to precisely follow a temperature profile to achieve great reflow soldering results. The temperature profile can be adjusted with points to suit any soldering requirements.

We strive to include as many parts as possible but the only guaranteed parts are our main controller board, a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, and a 3.5" capacitive touchscreen board. We have additional items that can be purchased as well that may help with building the oven.

Multiple solid-state relay outputs, thermocouple inputs, and additional I/O are included to support a wide variety of toaster and convection ovens.

The controller can be operated from a 3.5" touchscreen via a simple interface or remotely controlled via a web interface for more complex setups.

Why did you make it?

We wanted a more modern reflow oven controller kit that had features such as an intuitive touch screen interface, a commonly available microcontroller, and the ability easily to monitor/change profiles remotely as well as locally. Our design is able to address current issues with the supply chain as we have selected alternates for major components and are able to adapt quickly.

This is only the electronics kit and does NOT include everything that is needed to convert a toaster or convection based oven into a reflow oven for SMD soldering.
