To avoid shorting, these new boards have exposed pads on the bottom, put tape on these if your donor board have any exposed pads
What is it?
This listing is for one adapter board that takes 27C322 and makes it compatible with standard 36pin SNES ROM pinout.
Works fine with both LoROM and HiRom games on both my game pcbs and the originals.
Why did you make it?
Because I couldn't find any to buy.
Stuff you need
Snes cartridge PCB with space for a 36pin rom (My own works best, of course!)
On some boards a few components needs to be moved, the adapter is as small as it can be
1x Preprogrammed 27c322 chip, 27c160 chips are supported, see page 7 of documentation
2x 74 257 SOIC
2x 18 single row header pins
Patience when assembling, its tricky, the total clearance inside a standard snes cartridge shell is only 6mm!

Adapter board
These adapter boards are great. As is described, it takes a bit of finesse to get these installed neatly but once they are they’re perfect.

Great Adapter
These boards work well and are fairly easy to work with. Thanks for the great solution for the 27c322 chip!
Only thing that I think could be improved is the pin hole size for the 27c322. There’s quite a bit of space and the solder can flow through the hole to the other side too easily.

Great product For making games
I have used this product to make three translated games with these PCBs so far, they are easy to assemble and function perfectly. So much better to use than Tsop adapters currently floating around. I was so pleased with them I have placed a second order to do more games. and will likely do so again

Great product!
I love how small these are, and how clean they make installs. Personally, I had no difficulty assembling the parts, and my first game with the adapter worked perfectly. Will likely buy more!
2 nitpicky design thoughts: 1.) Would prefer the 5V and GND rails to be thicker than the traces for the address and data lines 2.) Feel like the 74-series chips should have filter caps on them.

Difficult to assemble, but well worth the effort
AM29F032B chips are a pain in the butt to solder, 27C322 always seemed like a good idea to me, but it was a mess to get the wiring right, especially with the required 74HC257x2 chips. Low and behold, Mrtentacle apparently thought so too, and made these adapter boards, which puts all the required hardware on one board. While these boards are a very tight fit and take a while to assemble, they make a clean, professional looking product that opens up the 27C322 chip for more projects. Highly recommended!

Great Idea, Design a bit rough
Straight to the point, I love the idea of a 27c322 adapter for your SNES donors. That way, you aren't spending a chunk of change for TSOP to DIP adapters, or using 3.3v flash chips. My biggest issue is the design. You have to do so much prep to get it to fit as low to the board as possible, and even then it will barely fit in a US cart. Personally, I would say it would be better to make the 27c322 side surface mount, instead of Through-Hole like the SNES Mask ROM side. But overall, love the idea but the design needs a bit more work.

Worked as indicated
Works perfectly as described, it definitely is a tight fit in the case.
Note *only* works on 27C322, not other similar EPROMs (eg 27C160s), which it never suggested it would but just FYI

EDIT, I think the problem is pin 32 of the 27c160 chip, it should be connected to GND instead of the hole in the adapter board, bend the leg up and connect to ground. Should work, haven't tried as I dont have any of those on hand.
EDIT 2, no not GND connect to VCC, sorry I must be tired.. :)
EDIT 3, The silkscreen and documentation have been updated with instruction for how to use 27C160 chips with the adapter
