Read More…If you'd like to practice some surface-mount soldering, this is a good kit to start with as it's relatively straight-forward to put together, and repetitive so that you have plenty of opportunities to practice, make mistakes, and perfect.
Otherwise, I have found it handy to have around for quick setup whenever I need an LED indicator while prototyping.
You get one bare PCB, 16 green LEDs, and 16 1K resistors. The LEDs and resistors are 0805 package size.
The board is NOT assembled.
The GND pin is a common pin connected to all of the pads on the bottom of the board. Connect the cathodes (indicated on the LED by a green line) of the LEDs to these pads for active high LEDs. If you need active low LEDs, you could connect the anodes of the LEDs to these pads, and then apply Vcc to the GND pin instead. (You might want to make a note on your board if you do!)
