What is it?

This is a breakout board for the Arduino Pro Micro boards, that breaks out most of the pins to standard screw terminal connectors, though you could also directly solder to this board. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE PCB ONLY and is NOT POPULATED with any components. Pictures of the board populated with components below are for example purposes. Again, the Pro Micro and other components are not provided, only the bare PCB.

Why did you make it?

This was originally designed for myself and a friend for our own personal arcade machines. I have a custom arcade cabinet with arcade control sticks / buttons. I wanted to use an open source controller and eventually settled on using the Pro Micro with excellent software from a user on GitHub. We made a few extra and thought it would be good to share with the community.

What makes it special?

The silkscreen on the board is specially labeled with the button numbers from the above mentioned GitHub project which makes it super simple to wire up to your favorite joystick and buttons. The board also has an option for a reset tack switch if you want to reset the board for whatever reason (i.e. flashing, getting into the bootloader on specific boards). It breaks out the additional pins that aren't used by the arcade projects as a 2.54 pitch header. This makes it versatile a breakout board for other projects if you aren't interested in using this for an arcade.
