Read More…I decided to make a simple to solder DIY Arduino that anyone can build. I used mostly through-hole components, there are just two SMD voltage regulators (3.3V and 5V) that are still not that small and are easy to solder. Keep in mind that there is no USB port so you have to use an external programmer to upload a program. You can use the original Arduino UNO bootloader and it will work just fine because I used the same crystal (16MHz).
I wanted to make a simple and cheap version of Arduino that anyone can build. Designed with simplicity in mind - the number of SMD components has been reduced to a minimum.
There is space for additional connectors (5V, 3.3V and GND) so that you can easily connect more sensors, displays and other stuff without a breadboard. There is also a place for two LEDs one is connected to 5V and the second one to pin number 13.
This product is PCB only! Assembled Unit is only shown for reference.
