What is it?

Wanderer is a wearable pin. It blinks its LEDs like it is flying. Wanderer displays a random pattern when its antennae touch. It is a lovely pin for your jacket or backpack.

• Kit: if you are capable of soldering a 0.65mm fine-pitch SMD chip, try this.
• Half-assembled: if you are good at soldering through-hole components, this is for you.
• Fully-assembled: if you are curious, start from this.

Please note that the package does not include the CR2032 battery.

Wanderer is inspired by Boldport Monarch. However it has a different design and circuit.

Why did you make it?

The hobby of collecting butterfly is over and far behind us. No one would encourage today’s children to chase butterflies. Then I have come across Peter Marren's book, Rainbow Dust. It evokes memories of elegant butterflies when I was a kid.
