Summary

This is a simple 3PDT breakout board for DIY guitar effect pedal builds. It is true bypass and fits in 1590A enclosures or larger.

It includes pads for an optional LED and resistor to indicate when the effect is engaged.

Why is this useful?

This makes wiring a guitar pedal up much neater and easier and is likely to improve the reliability of your build. It provides pads for all required inputs/outputs on a guitar pedal.

Technical info

• In my experience, a 1K resistor for R1 works well for a typical 3mm LED at 9V. If you are using voltages above or below 9V, you will need to use a different resistor to suit.
• It can be flipped either way around to make sure the input and output are facing the right way for your build
• If you don't want the LED, you don't need to populate R1 or add a jumper in its position. You also won't need to pass 9V to the 3PDT breakout board.
• Has an extra 9V and GND which allows for the DC jack to be connected directly to the 3PDT breakout and provide power to the effect. This isn't required if the effect PCB itself can accept 9V from the DC jack and pass it through to the 3PDT breakout.
