What is it?

The OPS243-A is a long range Doppler radar sensor capable of detecting motion, speed, and direction of objects in it's field of view. Detection range is from 1-100m for people or cars. All signal processing is done on the board and a simple API reports out over USB or UART interface serial port. The API allows control over the data format (mph, m/s, etc.), transmit power, duty cycle, among other things. The sensor is highly accurate at +/-0.5% and has been tested to be equivalent to police radar.

Why did you make it?

None of the radar solutions on the market were a complete solution and required addition of a processor and writing your own signal processing code. Nor were there any easy to use radar sensors that can detect vehicles up to 100m away. The OPS243-A does it all, just connect into your drone, robot, or IoT system and get the data you really want.

What makes it special?

The simplicity of the solution and how easy it is to integrate into your system. If you can read data from a serial port, you're up and running. Reference code is available for Raspberry Pi and even an APK file for Android phone/tablet.
