What is it?

These are tactile push button boards with a 3-pin picoblade connector and a 10K ohm resistor on on the first wire. These boards fit nicely the Adafruit tactile push buttons or any other similar 12mm x 12mm push buttons.

Why did you make it?

I was having some trouble with some tactile touch sensors picking up external signals at one point, and so I wanted a button board that was mechanical in nature that I could use for projects in a pinch.

What makes it special?

This is the only tactile push button board I've found with a 3-pin pico blade connector onboard.

Check the product options -- selling these in groups of 9 boards only (no buttons), or in groups of 5 with buttons pre-assembled (square or circular button options available).

How to hook it up?

There are more than a few ways to wire this up using 2 or 3 wires, and there are some ways that the wiring won't work. The simplest configuration would be to hook GND and the Input signal up to pins 2 and 3 and an internal PULL_UP resistor, or with 3.3V and Input signal with an internal PULL_DOWN resistor.

If your use case doesn't have an internal PULL resistor available, no problem -- use all three wires and wire it so pin 1 is Voltage, pin 2 is the input and pin 3 is the GND. Pins 2&3 are always connected, and in this configuration you are using GND to pull-down the input pin until the button is pressed and then voltage flows through the 10K resistor through the button and triggering the input.

Also recommended is to use debounce logic in your software to buffer out any voltage spikes or abnormalities in making contact when pressing the button.
