Overview

The Orkwerx Breadstick is just a little widget you can use to connect the two sets of power rails on a standard breadboard.

Yup, that's all it does.

Yup, you could do the same thing with jumper wires.

But sometimes, it's nice to reduce the clutter of wires on your breadboard; these are nice and flat and you can leave them on the board even when you're not using it!

Plus, with its 4 pins of header holding each side into the breadboard, it forms a much more electrically solid connection than your average jumper.

Details

Comes fully assembled; no soldering required.

Includes 0.1uF decoupling caps and a space for an optional 2-pin 0.1" connector of your choice.

The stick is set up assuming that the power rails are labeled +/-/+/- (that is, with power and ground on the same side). This is the case on every breadboard I've seen, but you might want to double check yours. Check out the picture if my meaning is unclear. :)

Another handy little tool

Not the most exciting item, but a nice little time saver. I would have loved to see header pins on the top of the board (maybe even a mismatched pair of male and female) for applying power or testing.

I love it!

A simple, yet beautiful idea. I'm glad I bought two! Maybe add another one with some polarity-indicating blinkenlights (LEDs)--who doesn't like breadboard bling?
