What is it?

The p0k3t0_41 is a sync splitter for Pocket Operators and similar electronic devices. It allows you to use one Pocket Operator as a sync master, then output its audio to a 3.5mm jack, and copy its sync signal to 4 sync connectors.

This will allow you to keep up to 5 Pocket Operators in perfect sync.

It also works with Korg Volca products, but the Volca needs to be the master device.

Why did you make it?

I made this device because I didn't like the way that Pocket Operators handle audio pass-through poorly. It's almost impossible to mix volumes well, and every device in the chain makes the audio worse. This allows you to plug the PO outputs directly into a mixer for a clean sound.

Perfect product

It does what it should and nicely integrates in my Logic clock-over-usb -> NTS-1 sync out -> splitter -> 3 POs -> mixer setup.

The most ingenious device I never knew I needed

I have 4 pocket operators and could never get the mix quite right when connecting them in series. I am using this now with an android app called PO LoopSync--I go from the app on my phone into the splitter and can connect up to 4 POs and can adjust the sound levels separately. I like that it divides the app output into a sync signal and a stereo audio signal. Great documentation accessible via QR code.

Amazing!

So this took my pocket operators from being just a thing I played with to actually being a real instrument I was able to integrate into my whole midi setup. The splitter provides improved audio quality that you can run directly from each pocket operator and seamless sync. Just an amazing little device.

Exactly what I needed

I'd been using my PO-35 as a master sync to my SQ-1, Minilogue, and PO-32, but because of the splitters, I was losing the audio of the PO-35, and that's an awful useful thing to just have sitting there making no tasty sounds. Not only that, but syncing my Tonic -> Speak -> KO! ended up with the audio sounding baaaaad. A Gooj search pulled up this product, and promised me the ability to split off the sync signals from the audio. Shazam! This + a $6 1/8" star splitter and suddenly everything sounds great together! I can also split each PO off into separate mixer channels for individual control and effects, since the Sync signal is now isolated. Unbelievable! You could sell these for way more and it'd still be worth it!

Excellent solution for PO syncing

This little thing is great. Quite small, and the little rubber feet are a nice touch. The only "downside" is that I didn't order two.

Shipping took a bit longer than estimated but that wasn't an issue in my case.

I've also been able to connect devices other than pocket operators to this as well, such as the Korg SQ-1. Looking forward to trying it with others such as the Arturia Keystep and Volca devices.

Exactly as advertised

IMO this is a must-have if you want to get the most out of your Pocket Operators. After I got my third PO I started looking around for a sync splitter but couldn't find anything that looked reliable or was guaranteed to work. I was very happy to find this splitter and even happier when it arrived: it's small but surprisingly sturdy and works perfectly. Being able to incorporate my mixer and effect pedals has been a complete game-changer. Now I just need to get a Bastl Dude to make a complete mobile setup!

I’m using mine for a diy project, to mount my pocket operators on a guitar neck. This unit makes it easier to adjust their volumes on my Dude! mixer.

Amazing product. Must-have PO accessory!!!

This is a genius product that solves the problem of separating Pocket Operator audio for recording and mixing, while maintaining all of their sync capabilities. And that's not all. It does so at an incredibly cheap price, with a cool form factor. AND it creates a bonus capability that you can't do with the regular syncing of Pocket Operators: You can stop any of the Pocket Operators that are #2-5 in the sync chain, at any time, and restart them without affecting the others!

For example, if you had all your PO's connected normally *without* this device, if you stopped #3 in the chain, that causes #4 and #5 to stop. On top of being annoying, this might affect the song vision you had in mind.

With this device, you could stop #2 and #5, but keep #3 going, then reintroduce #5 but not #2, etc...I LOVE IT.

Of course, the biggest reason to get this is that you can record and mix your Pocket Operators' audio separately. You will need to buy extra cables to connect all this, but it's totally worth it, IMO. The audio quality is much better, and the control you gain over editing your recordings is priceless. For instance, if you had a sweet jam but only liked what the Arcade was doing during the first part of it, now you can extract that, then loop it, add it back in for the rest of the track, etc.

If you're wondering about what happens to the PO audio signal that is first in the chain – it comes out the end of the device, the last jack on the right.

Indispensable tool for owners of multiple Pocket Operators

Perfect for what I needed. I can now sync up my POs with separate audio outs, which means less noise per channel. And I can also run just one of them through my Monotron Delay. Without the splitter I was restricted to running the total sound output through the Delay. Now I can get a sweet repeating echo happening with one PO's output, then add a clean kick and snare for deep dubby techno vibes. Fun!

great solution for my pocket operators

This is a great improvement to my pocket operator set up. I am now syncing 4 POs and sending each devices audio out to different amps/speakers. I plan on adding a mixer and using this in that set up. It is small enough to install inside an altoid minis tin if you are will to make that work (it’s tight) happy to have this!

Great little splitter, I could use one more!

This works as stated, especially if you need to break out the signal for a an effects send. The seller was communicative and responsive to my email questions which is always a plus! When you buy one, order 2! You can get really creative with routing.

Maybe future versions will have a basic case. I couldn’t convince the wife I needed a thousand dollar 3D printer to make a case.

THIS IS IT!

I spent a long time and some money on trying to figure out to integrate my OP-1, POs and my mixer. After several ultimatly fruitless trips to the music shop I started digging deeper online and came across this gem. It did exactly what I needed so perfectly, yes! Super use full! I used OP 1 as the master and the POs each set to sync 2. Then Each PO to a separate channel to the mixer.
