Hey there...
I recently purchased the OpenDeck DIY MIDI platform v3 and have been extremely impressed with its capabilities and ease of use. As an media technician, I first was looking for a reliable and flexible gpio board that would allow me to connect a wide variety of buttons, knobs, and sensors to control my software. My first plan was to write the software for the gpio to midi translation myself. But then I found this neat little killer timesaver product. The OpenDeck platform exceeded my expectations in every way.

One of the things I love most about the OpenDeck is that it is truly plug-and-play. I didn't have to install any software or drivers on my computer - all I had to do was connect the board to the OpenDeck website and start configuring it to my liking. The configuration process is refreshingly different from other MIDI or IO controllers I have used, and it was a breeze to get everything set up and working exactly the way I wanted it to.

In terms of performance, the OpenDeck has been rock solid so far. I have connected all sorts of buttons and knobs to it, and everything has worked instantly. The MIDI signals are consistently accurate and reliable.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the product and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a flexible and easy-to-use MIDI platform. It has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I have no doubt that it will continue to be a valuable tool in my workflow.

Unbelievable easy and works perfect

I'm quite a beginner on programming but that isn't even needed. Just connect stuff to the right part of the board and there you go with your own midi stuff. I actually need more, hopefully they get back in stock some day .

Thanks for the great comment. The new boards are coming sometime before the end of the year - if everything goes right, probably by the end of the next month.

A well worth of buying!

For OpenDeck DIY MIDI platform M

To keep it short: I have over 30 years of experience in IT and programming. Theoretically it is not a big problem to program Arduino board as MIDI controller.
But...
To program is one, and to test/debug/make it usable and flexible is completely different story.

This board is amazing and worth of every penny.
The documentation is very good. Support and communication is also well.
It is enormous time saver! If you are student, or billionaire bored to death, go and design/build/program your own solution. If your money counts, and your time is money, then buy this board, and just connect required elements (switches, encoders, pots, displays), use the provided configurator, and have your MIDI controller working in "no time".

Pure recommendation from my side.

It's the pointy, finished and perfect board for all your DIY Midi. Shipping in France, easy to set up ( DIY) easy to connect, nice wiki on github for realy quick start with all information needed. (Probably need a litlle more exemple with complet BOM)

OpenDeck makes me excited for MIDI controllers like never before. This PCB and the accompanying configuration utility allow creating so many different types of controllers. Now DIYers like me can make homebrew MIDI controllers with an insane number of knobs, sliders, and buttons that rival manufacturers like FaderFox, AKAI, and Korg. It takes just a few MINUTES to get up and running with OpenDeck! The hardest part is building the physical controller (e.g. a custom metal or acrylic case). Everything else such as connecting the pots and buttons to configuring what they do is made super simple by OpenDeck. It's literally plug and PLAY!
