Read More…The Breadboard Spring Vise provides a simple, convenient and, versatile way to keep your breadboard prototyping projects locked in place and organized. With the Breadboard Spring Vise, you don't have to carefully pick up your Arduino Uno and breadboard to keep your jumper wires in place when you move your project around.
Your dev boards will be held securely in place next to the breadboard. The Breadboard Spring Vise holds most small dev boards boards quite securely, yet still makes it easy to swap boards in and out.
The jaws on each side of the vise are deep enough to fit another breadboard along side the first, and they are wide enough to hold a Raspberry Pi.
The Breadboard Spring Vise was featured on Hackaday.com.
A friend and I were trying to take pictures and videos of Arduino prototypes and quickly realized how difficult it is to keep the Arduino and breadboard lined up nicely. The jumper wires fight you, and push the light-weight Arduino around. It is even worse with an ESP-01 board.
I was planning on printing one of the simple Arduino holders on Thingiverse, but then I saw the Stickvise, and I realized that there was a better way to go.
Other breadboard holders and organizers are very static. They hold one breadboard in place, and that breadboard is often glued in place forever.
It is sized to fit the common 800-point breadboards that you can find at places like Sparkfun and Adafruit. I usually buy mine on eBay, though.
The breadboard fits VERY snugly in the current iteration of the Breadboard Spring Vise. Don't be surprised if it takes a good amount of force to insert your breadboard into the vise. I've tested several iterations to get this nice, tight fit so your breadboard won't accidentally come loose on you.
I am most definitely the world's worst salesman. You probably shouldn't buy a Breadboard Spring Vise. You should print your own!
That said, I know not everyone can print their own. I think the Breadboard Spring Vise is one of the most versatile and convenient ways to keep your breadboard projects neat, tidy, and sturdy.
The Breadboard Spring Vise is not a shiny, smooth, perfect piece of plastic. These vises are printed on my own personal 3D printer, and they will have imperfections. However, they are quite sturdy and completely functional.
Breadboard is not included.
