This is a hardware unit that allows the measurement of AC power. Each unit has 6 ports, each of which have been tested connected to an SCT013 100A 0-1V split core current transformer. It may be possible to use other types of current transformer but these have not been tested. Each port can measure the AC power flow bi directionally (to/from the grid). The unit measures the active power (the power normally charged by a domestic electricity supplier), reactive and apparent power. The AC power factor, frequency and AC voltage is also measured along with the WiFi RSSI and internal temperature.

I designed the unit because I could not find a product that would measure bi directional power on each port and wanted a product that could provide a useful web dashboard to present the data. The web interface presents each CT6 unit in it’s own tab allowing multiple units to be connected.

The firmware on the CT6 unit is micropython which should allow users to more easily adapt the software to there own needs if required.

Note that the unit is not supplied with a power supply or current transformers. See https://github.com/pjaos/ct6_meter_os/tree/master/hardware for the reasons for this. Therefore you will need to purchase these separately.

The following options are available when ordering

• A Raspberry Pi W with headers. This is required to use the unit, but is optional if you already have one. If no RPi Pico W is purchased then the unit is supplied without calibration data as the calibration data is stored on the RPi Pico W flash during production test.
• The 2 inch TFT display. This is optional but is difficult to use the unit without it.
• A 3D printed case is also available.

It is recommended that at least the first two options are purchased. The case can be printed yourself but be aware that different 3D printers may print different sizes. The case in the git repo is optimised for the BambuLabs X1 carbon 3D printer.
