When pressed, it outputs a conditioned 3V step meant to trigger the channel it is plugged in to. By setting up a conditional trigger you can act on your scope as if you had an additional limb.
Why did you make it?
It makes my life easier at work. How often do you find yourself probing two or more signals, and due to limb deficit, having to call your peers to push on the oscilloscope buttons?
What makes it special?
It is simpler, more affordable and easier to use than HP's voice recognition or National Instrument's "Bump to capture".
It features a low-pass filter to reject switch bounce that would otherwise translate into multiple trigger events.
It is long-lasting and RUGGED, made out of cast aluminum. The BNC connector is metal as well.
