Read More…It is a passive monitoring board that can snoop R-Bus traffic between your thermostat and heater, and convert it to UART data that can be read by any Feather compatible devboard.
This is a work in progress, and this board is meant for daring adventurers who want to contribute to decoding the protocol data. There is currently no smart home integration and only partial decoding.
Virtually every modern heater and thermostat will speak OpenTherm, but Remeha in their infinite wisdom created their own protocol called R-Bus. This protocol is to the best of my knowledge completely undocumented, so this is my attempt at doing that.
Unlike OpenTherm, this allows you to see more detailed information like the power usage of your heat pump, eventually.
