Running update: the 1/5th Rain Light now supports higher voltage operation, covering anywhere from 6V to 11.8V.

This is a semi-scale version of the flashing light used in F1 racing, designed for 1/5th scale radio controlled F1 models. It is a bigger version of the 1/10 scale version, but the extra space allows for an extra row of LEDs for a closer approximation of the real-life unit.

I designed this to add a bit more realism to RC F1 racing.

It looks way cooler than a single blinking LED commonly used by racers. It blinks at very close to the 4Hz/40% duty cycle of the McLaren unit, used by a few of the FIA F1 teams.

It is supplied with approximately 100cm of flexible two-strand wire and a plug compatible with most receivers. With a small update, it now operates with any voltage from 6V to 11.8V, so is ready for any 2S to 3S configurations.

The unit is supplied in a small plastic case with a flat back. You will need to devise a suitable way to mount it in your vehicle.

If desired, I can supply bare boards that are not pre-mounted in the plastic case. Please contact me for details.
