What is it?

The FlipIt Drone Battle-Beacon is an audio/visual gadget that lets you fly head-head battles with your other drone buddies. Check this VIDEO out:

The FlipIt has a multi-colored LED beacon and a smart “Drone Listener” that can sense when a drone passes nearby. When a drone gets close, the FlipIt will pulse and flip the color of its LED beacon. This simple action lets you create amazing drone battle games ranging from “Capture the Flag” contests, to multi-lap color-changing obstacle courses.

Why did I make it?

I run a Robotics Non-Profit, and I wanted something fun that I could use in my indoor drone camps. It's much easier to learn to fly when there is a challenge to compete. With the FlipIt, your can compete against the clock, your flying buddy, or a room full of flyers. Before I knew it, the kids were creating their own games based on the FlipIt.

What makes it special?

It's small and simple, but packed with features. The ultra low power design lets you play for months with just a pair of AAA batteries. The audio circuitry adapts to the ambient noise in the room, so you can play in many environments. Since the FlipIt is small, you can put a hand-full in your flight box, and be ready for any situation.

You can flip the Beacon color by flying close, or even by bumping it. Games can be 2D or 3D. They can be static or dynamic (hang a FlipIt on a string !!!)

Notes:

Each FlipIt requires two AAA batteries which are NOT included. FlipIts are sold in pairs, so you need 4 batteries per set.
