What is it?

The ESP32 Module for AC Infinity T4/T6 is a custom replacement PCB designed to enhance your existing AC Infinity Powered vents. This module retains the original PWM fans and NTC thermistor, adding an ESP32 for Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling smart home integration and remote control capabilities. The LCD display has been upgraded to an SSD1306 for outputting custom messages. Please note, the power cable is not included and may require soldering depending on the board revision.

Why did you make it?

I created this module because I wanted to upgrade the vents I already had with smart capabilities, allowing for easier control and automation in a smart home setup.

Technical Details

• Compatibility: Works with AC Infinity AirTap models including T4, T6, and other models listed in the compatibility section.
• Power Requirements: 12V DC (Power cable not included; soldering may be required depending on board revision)
• Wi-Fi Module: ESP32-C3 for wireless connectivity and smart home integration
• Display: SSD1306 OLED display
• Firmware: Configured for ESPHome with provided configurations (links available in the ESPHome Config section)
• Dimensions: Standard PCB size compatible with existing AirTap enclosure
• Rev1 vs Rev2: Revision 1 of the 3 button board has a mounting hole alignment issue, only the two left holes are used for mounting. Also includes individual PWM controls whereas rev2 shares one PWM signal for both fans. Otherwise it works fine.

Installation Instructions

1. Disassembly: Carefully open your AC Infinity vent to access the original PCB.
2. Compare PCB Layout: Match your vent’s PCB layout with the images provided to ensure compatibility with one of the three supported versions.
3. Upload Firmware: Use the provided ESPHome configuration links to upload the correct firmware version to your ESP32 module or alternative firmware compatible with ESP32-c3 module.

4. Install the ESP32 Module:
   • Replace the existing PCB with the ESP32 module.
   • Connect the PWM fans and NTC thermistor to the corresponding terminals on the new PCB.
   • (If needed) Solder the power cable to the correct pads on the PCB.
5. Secure the Module: Reassemble the vent, ensuring that all connections are secure and the module is properly seated.
6. Test Functionality: Power on the vent and check that the display is working and the device connects to your Wi-Fi network.
