Program and use your WT32-ETH01 ESP32-based Ethernet boards more easily than ever before! This PCB ads a UART header and easy to press BOOT and RESET buttons that make programming your WT32-ETH01 a breeze.
There's plenty of prototyping area for components, and the prototype holes are connected in pairs, similar to many existing prototype boards so that soldering your projects is as easy as possible!
Why did you make it?
It was annoying to try to wire up a FTDI cable to my WT32-ETH01 boards, and shorting GPIO0 and EN when programming them was a pain. I wanted something that was simple to use and didn't require any extra jumpers to get going. Just solder headers to your WT32-ETH01, solder the matching headers to this board, add two buttons and plug a USB>UART board onto the 6 pin header and you're ready to go!
What makes it special?
Room for mounting the WT32-ETH01 on either the top or bottom of the board, whichever you like.
Easily accessible BOOT and RESET buttons that are easy to press when programming your board.
No need to remember which jumpers go where, no fighting with breadboards while trying to program your board, and plenty of room for small prototyping projects!
There's even a spot for an expansion header if you want to easily add more hardware!
Ground, 5v0, and 3v0 rails are all broken out with plenty of pads to solder to.
There are also two isolated rails, RISO1 and RISO2 with 4 pads each, all connected together if you need to make multiple connections to one wire/pin.
Both sides of the board have everything clearly labelled with screenprinting, so no matter the orientation of your project, you can see what you're doing.
There's a large hole in the PCB for strain-relieving your power (Or any connections) with a zip tie.
Two pre-connected pads next to each other can easily have the trace broken between them with an xacto knife if you don't want 5v0 from the USB>UART board to go to the WT32-ETH01, and vise versa. If you break the trace, the pads make it easy to reconnect it with a blob of solder if you change your mind later.
All rails are clearly labeled for ease of use.
Meant to be used with a USB>UART board such as this: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806492521677.html or one with an identical pin order.
A note on headers:
If you're ordering pre-soldered headers, here's what you're getting:
"Male headers on bottom" - You will need female headers soldered to your WT32-ETH01 board on the SAME side as the Ethernet jack for it to work.
"Female headers on top" - You will need male headers soldered to your WT32-ETH01 board on the OPPOSITE side of the Ethernet jack for it to work.
