Now is simple to display remote or local information on OLED display.

Using base Wifi module ESP8266 ESP12-E easy connect to the web and get all information you need to be displayed. Can choose full white OLED more visible area and more constrast, or dual color yellow blue (there is a non pixel line separation between colors) Future ESP library will support 65K color OLED.

Easy IO's direct connect to module VCC GND SDA SCL Exta IO's ADC, GPI00(flashing pull low with jumper/normal operation leave), GPI04, TX and RX pins. ESP module easy connection pin header. No need SMD soldering. Connect OLED display on top of breakoutboard. Small and compact. Purple PCB.

ESP is ready for deep sleep function. HW pin 16 tied to RST providing wake up. External IO0 for programming boot mode.

Example: node.dsleep(5000000, 4) --deep sleep 5 seconds, ultra low power consuption. Check all functions available here: NodeMCU API webpage

Program board from Arduino IDE:

Install latest Arduino IDE from the Arduino website.
Start Arduino and open Preferences window.
Enter http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json into Additional Boards Manager URLs field. You can add multiple URLs, separating them with commas.
Open Tools→Board:xxx→Boards Manager and install esp8266 by ESP8266 Community (and don't forget to select your ESP8266 board from Tools > Board menu after installation).
