A capacitive soil sensor capable of detecting water content / moisture of soil. Based on 80MHz operation transparent to minerals. Stable over many soils including biological soil. Very precise. Based on cylindrical field measuring. Ultra low power 25mA power consumption. 2.8V to 5V supply A simple soil sensor to get same precision of other high cost sensors on market. High quality four layer probe pcb (copper coplanar traces inside pcb, ultra durable probe, water proof, wear resistant (other moisture sensors use 2 layer pcb and scratch will expose outside copper damaging probe and unpredictable readings ))
Plants need care and precise sensor to measure water content of soil. Most soil sensors use low frequency (few KHz to few MHz) and get influenced by minerals/nutrients inner soil giving un-precise measurements and do not have any range (low frequency only measure near close to pcb, no range so measuring is non precise and influenced by minerals/nutrients available on soil). This one is low cost, low power, precise, non sensible to minerals availability on soil.
