Its a UPS uninterrupted power supply managing system that allows continuous load under charging or keeping load up during power failure.

Up to 1A charging current and up to 2A cell discharge.

You can use any Vin between 4.5V up to 8V to charge battery cell. MicroUSB connector onboard and input pin pads. You can also use a solar panel cell ( voltage < 8V ) The module will keep charging the cell up to 1A while under load active or as power supply backup.
