Mechanism opens and closes doors depending on ambient light. It is powered by rechargeable 18650 li-ion battery(3.7V-4.2V) with the polarity shown on the device. It is recommended to use name brand batteries with capacity 1500mAh or more.

Timing of opening and closing can be adjusted by turning the screw on first potentiometer left(unscrewing) to close later in the evening and vice versa. Turn 3 full turns and test. Full range of potentiometers is 30 turns. Every movement has a 20 minute delay.

Morning delay is adjusted* by turning middle trimmer clockwise to increase and CCW to decrease.

Door travel can be adjusted* from 20 to 40cm. Maximum recommended load is 500g.

Installation with two or four screws(not included). The string is attached to moving part of doors.

When the battery is inserted, the motor will turn one rotation left and right to let the user know it works. Starting position is always "bottom".

To let the solar cell sufficiently charge the battery, place the device facing south with no shading objects in the way. Facing east or west may also work. Rainy days don't affect performace because the battery stores enough energy. Solar cell can be disconnected to simulate night.

• Adjustments »Door travel« and »Morning delay« only come into effect when a position is to be changed from down to up position.

It is not advisable to solely rely on this device to protect your flock. Good protection even during the day is recommended.
