What is QVEX Lynepad

It is an additional, fully programmable keyboard suitable for any kind of design work including photo editing, video editing, PCB design, 3D modeling and so much more. It allows you to press shortcuts or run complex macros using a single key.

You can define a separate layout for each application running on your PC using AHK, without reflashing firmware or applying config files to the Lynepad (read firmware section).

Firmware

There are two different firmwares available for the Lynepad, each has it's own pros and cons.

Official firmware (preloaded)

With the official firware, you can use AHK or QVEX Desktop app to setup your Lynepad.

AHK

• Windows only
• Define unlimited number of layers
• Define separate layer for each app running on your PC (automatic switching using process name)
• Supports complex content-aware macros
• Requires running AHK client

QVEX Desktop app

• Currentely in alpha testing on our Discord
• Windows only (MacOS and Linux support coming)
• Highest level of utility as this is a proprietery app
• Easy firmware updates
• Support basic macros
• Define up to 4 layers

QMK firmware

• Community firmware
• Windows, MacOS, and Linux support
• Web-based VIA configurator
• Define up to 5 layers (key-binding layouts)
• Supports non-content-aware macros
• Doesn't require any client app running

> The Lynepad implementation is not yet merged into the official QMK github repository. Use of QMK is done through uploading a firmware, and using design tab in VIA. It can take up to several months to get merged.

Keycaps options

• Standard quality DSA keycaps made from PBT in various colors.
• High-quality XDA keycaps made from PBT in the iron-color set that includes 1x light-purple, 3x grey, and 7x light-grey keycaps

Why did We make the Lynepad?

We made ourselves a macro keypad created by @_joshajohnson to help us with designing PCBs. But We've been pressing accidentally multiple keys when trying to use the rotary encoders. And so We decided to design ours from scratch.
