Full Duplex to half duplex serial converter. The 2way converter that can connect multiple half duplex endpoints on a 3wire (power included) network.

A simple but useful tool that started as communication network converter for miniature model trains, but quickly proved a lot more helpful, due to its also great ability of independent level shifting in both half duplex and full duplex sides. Specially useful for intelligent active robotic servomotors, actuators/sensors, etc.

Input signals from 3v to 12v. Output signal (same voltage as power bus) 3v to 12v. Can convert signals from a 3v to 12v input, to 3v to 12v output and vice versa.(As the scope picture.) Network number of elements varies according to the bus voltage and devices with enabled TRX pulls. A 12v bus can take up to 8 trx pull enabled nodes, but a 5v bus can take up to 15 nodes with enabled pulls. (This is due to the output sink capacity, please refer to documentation for further information.) The number of nodes with non pulled TRX is theoretically irrelevant, being the parasitic capacitance that modulated the signal edges, an accountable factor only when there are hundreds of nodes lined up in the same bus. Up to 1mbit speed (single node), with a maximum 200ns propagation delay.(As the scope picture.)

Like most of newer designs, this device was made to be easily repaired in case of damage to the core element, the LM393 comparator.
