This plug and play module accepts a PWM to control 165 watt Viparspectra light and supports white and blue channels. It also turns the light on and off automatically. The board is fully assembled and ready to be plugged in to the Viparspectra lights to replace the manual control on the front panel.
Why did you make it?
This module takes a 3.3v or 5v pwm signal to drive the dimming function in the light. It also turns off the lights when the PWM signal is turned off, so you don't need to add extra relays or outlets to control on/off. This makes it possible to integrate Viparspectra lights into reef-pi, or any other system that ouputs pwm signals.
What makes it special?
Other mods to control black box lights still require an additional set of relays to turn the lights fully off. It is fully assembled and ready to plug in to your lights. This board eliminates the need for extra components and programming.

What can I say...Mike makes the best boards :)
Not sure why Mike does it, I guess as a way of giving back but he puts a lot of time into these boards and it makes putting a reef-pi together so much easier all for a low cost. This latest Viparspectra is another great addition to his current listing of boards. Great workmanship and layout makes installation easy and straight forward. If I could only figure out how to get it to cook my food for me...:)
