So in the back of every good LCD screen is a strong LED. This backlight, lights up the display making it visible in low light conditions. What it actually is is an LED with a rectangle light diffuser. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours. I have six varieties, medium size (80 x 12 mm) and large "business card" (80 x 45 mm) and 3 colours: white, blue and green.
They can be used just like any other LED and look amazing in glowy arduino projects or as name badges and place name cards... I will soon be selling small kits for name badges, that will include a battery holder, battery and pin.
