This is a larger variant of the MT-32 hardware that combines the best from several of the more compact ones into one nice looking and easy to use Roland MT-32 emulator.
It can be used as a drop in replacement for the quite rare and expensive Roland MT-32 hardware.
Mt-32-PI also has the ability to do soundfont emulation of Sound Canvas, Yamaha DB50XG, AWE64 Gold and many many more.
This is a "hat" that you put a Raspberry PI into, i have tried it with a 3A+ and a 3B+ but its supposed to work also with some other models.
Gives great retro sound for your old MT32 or general midi capable machines at a much lower price and smaller formfactor then a real MT32.
It has dual MIDI ports ( MIDI-IN + MIDI-OUT), a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to your speakers or headphones. Easy to use meny system controlled with 4 buttons and a 0.96" OLED diplay.
Can be connected to any old computer that has midi out or even a modern windows PC using a USB to midi adapter ( i tested these using a Roland UM-ONE on windows 10 and it worked great)
You can read more about the project here: https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi And more about this specific hardware version by TEBL Here: https://github.com/tebl/BulkyMIDI-32
This is just the MT32-PI hat, you will also need a compatible raspberry pi and an SD card. Headphones, Roland UM-ONE or power supply shown on picture1 is only for illustration of the hardware in action and is not included. you will need any standard 5v power supply with enough amps to drive a raspberry pi3.
