What is it?

This is a very specialised development board.

• Waveshare laminated glass (black border) 7.5" e-paper panel
• ESP32-S3-MINI-1-N4-R2 (Dual core, 4M Flash, 2M SPI RAM)
• Micro SD slot
• 24 WS2812 LEDs (plus one by SD slot)
• PN532 NFC card reader and antenna behind panel in centre
• USB-C (two options) for power / serial /debug
• WAGO 2 pin power 5V-35V
• WAGO 2 pin switch input
• WAGO 4 pin external and link to local power for PN532
• Button fix wall mount

The PN532 can be operated independently from the panel, connecting power, and Tx/Rx serial. The serial is also connected to the ESP32, so could be passively monitored when externally used. It can also be linked to panel power and worked directly from the panel itself. Lots of options for how to work this.

The PN532 can work with DESFire NFC cards, and bank cards and all sorts. I use with DESFire for door entry control.

Why did you make it?

My front door - interactive door bell and door access using DESFire NFC cards

In my case the alarm / door entry system connects to PN532 independently from the panel, with panel passively monitoring to report LED status.
